  1. The thing that I enjoyed most about My friend the Enemy was when Hazel went over to the tower on Hawk’s nest and saw that Sogoji had finished it all up. One thing that I didn’t like was when Sogoji was taken away only because Hazel had told him to jump in the Creek behind his house with a stick of bamboo. I didn’t really like the end of the story because both Mr. Mayhew and Sogoji got arrested. I wish that the tower ended up being 15 feet not 12 because that was Frank’s original plan.

  2. What I most enjoyed about the book was when there was eye widening moments. Like when Jed went missing in combat, or when Hazel found out that Jed and Estelle were engaged, or when Sogoji was 15, and more. One thing I didn’t like about the book was it could be boring sometimes like when Hazel would pretend she had a army full of soldiers. What I think on how the story ended was when Sherman called Sogoji a Jap and Hazel took off running toward Sherman. Mr. Lanski explained that he wasn’t really Japanese or American. One thing I wished that would have happened was Jed surprising everyone coming home looking miserable escaping from the Japanese. Another was seeing what would happen if Sogoji got shipped off because Mr. Lanski said that he was going to a detention center in San Francisco. That could have been Alcatraz.

  3. I enjoyed the book because there was an amazing friendship between Hazel and Sogoji. The book really kept me in the whole time. I loved it because it had so much for me to think about while I was reading it. It was one of the best books I've ever read. There was nothing I didn't like about reading this book it was all fantastic. The whole book was fabulous and none of it was bad. I liked the way the story ended because it left me wondering and wanting for more. I liked how the author made so that you wanted another story. I wish that Sogoji had been set free from going to California but I liked how I wanted to read more. Those kind of books are good books because they want you to read more. I would've liked to know more about Mr.Mayhew too. But, the story was great how it ended. I truly loved reading this great book. It was such a good story. I loved how it ended and didn't but all in all it was an amazing story.

  4. In the Book My Friend the Enemy I enjoyed some of those heart beating parts like, when Hazel knew something was very wrong. “Something was very very wrong. My voice cracked with fear. ”Where is Sogoji?” I like these heart beating parts because it gives me something to think about when I’m doing something else and makes me want to read more.
The one thing I did not like about the book was when we all heard about Mr. Mayhew being arrested but nothing more, we never Heard of Mr. Mayhew again in the rest of the book. This disappoints me because this part of the story was a kind of big climax point and they left it as a cliffhanger ending.
I mostly I liked the ending of the story but how they left me wondering without a sequel to read after so I would enjoy another book.

  5. What I enjoyed most about the book is when Hazel gave Sogoji a hug after he got almost hit by a rock and she was proud that she did it. I enjoyed this because it was full of friendship. Yes! Their was something I did not like about the book and it is that the mystery of Jed is still a mystery and they sent Sogoji of to jail. I wish it never ended! I didn’t like the ending because it left so many questions unanswered! Yes there was something that I wish should've happened. Is that they figured out what happened to Jed.
